yan’an is a famous national resort, as well as one of the hundreds educational base of patriotism in china. it’s an important base for promote the patriotism, revolutionary tradition and yan'an spirit education; one of the cradles of huaxia (an ancient name for china) nationality. yan’an located between north latitude 3521' - 3731' and east longitude 10741' - 11031' in the middle beaches of the yellow river, the south of the loess plateau. it faces the shanxi province across the yellow river, borders on the gansu province in the west.

the main mountains of yan’an are: the pagoda hill, mt. qingliangshan, mt. wanhuashan, mt. qiaoshan, mt. fenghuangshan. the main rivers are: the yellow river, weihe river, jinhe river, luohe river, yanhe river, wudinghe river; jushui river; the hukou waterfall.
